Hello campers!
I haven't been exactly updating on the blog for like... 8 months perhaps? Well, I've been really busy with Examinations and Orientation. (And did you know at my school, we have 4 faculties, namely,
Ares,
Athena,
Apollo &
Artemis?)
Sounds cool, doesn't it?
And... guess what? I'm in
ATHENA!Orientation has been a blast. Can you believe it there were
war games?! Basically, it was something like capture the flag, but instead of 2 teams, there were
four. Instead of weapons, we had
water bombs, and instead of capturing flags, we had to
drench them. The team with the driest flag wins of course :) There was definitely alot of violence shown, with tackling, pushing, grabbing, scratching, screaming, intimidating...
The thing is,
Ares won in the end.Ok now about the movie, which I just watched yesterday...
Basically I felt that there were too many changes to the original plot as seen from the book, but I guess I shouldn't complain as the movie is only a
mere adaptation of the book. The entire thing about a
"quest for the 3 pearls" totally threw me off. I totally wanted to see Ares and Aphrodite and how Percy had to go retrieve Ares' shield. And the ride O' love, the cupids, hephaestus and his video cams and what not. hah. too bad it's cut out.
I may be blind during the movie, but
where the heck was Luke's scar?! Annabeth was way to passive. Grover was good, I had to say. He was a good replica of Grover in the book. I'm sorry Percy, you're way too old ):
Another part I was definitely anticipating was how Percy was claimed by Poseidon with the
green trident floating above his head. And definitely, I was like
WHERE IS CLARISSE! AND THE TOILET SCENE! I can't really conclude the
movie as a screwup, but Chris Columbus could have
done much much better, I believe, based on what I've seen of his Harry Potter 1 & 2. Seems like I've over estimated his abilities for this one.
Another thing about the movie was
Riptide. They didn't even introduce it as
Anaklusmos or
Riptide. It was just plain, old,
PEN. And you were supposed to
uncap it! Not click it!I'm definitely looking forward to
Grover in the wedding dress of the second movie (if there will be one at all). Please please please, do not tell me it's being cut out. I'd be disappointed if the entire quest of rescuing Grover and obtaining the golden fleece to save camp was changed to like Percy's quest to destroy Polyphemus. I was
quite annoyed Thalia, the pine tree was not introduced in the first movie though. I understood the time constraint though, so please please PLEASE introduce Thalia in the next movie! If not everyone will be like "Hey the tree's a person!"
I believe if I continue ranting about the movie, I'll spoil it for everyone (or maybe I already did), so I shall stop here.
Next up for the site:

- Change of music, hopefully.
Stay tuned folks and thank you for the support!
PS I apologize for updating the camp half blood list a little late :)
